Chief Deputy Sheriff Jamie R. Page was appointed to his office in November 2010 and has a highly accomplished career in law enforcement spanning over forty years to include over thirty-five years at the management and executive levels in both The Travis County Sheriff’s Office and the Hays County Sheriff’s Office.  His has extensive experience in budget preparation, management, planning, policy development and implementation in both the Law Enforcement and Corrections disciplines.  Chief Page oversees the day to day operations of the Hays County Sheriff’s Office, a full service county law enforcement agency, jail and training academy with an annual budget of over $30 million with approximately 350 fulltime sworn and civilian employees.

Chief Page graduated with an Associate Degree of Arts Law Enforcement Administration from Thornton Community College in South Holland, Illinois.  He then obtained a Bachelor of Science Law Enforcement Administration Degree from Western Illinois University in Macomb, Illinois in 1978.  Chief Page is a graduate of the F.B.I. National Academy Class #173 as well as a graduate of the F.B.I. Sniper School.

He began his thirty-two year career with the Travis County Sheriff’s Office in 1978 rising to the rank of Lieutenant serving in the areas of Central Records, Criminal Warrants, Fleet Management, Communication Center Security, Criminal Investigations, Major Crimes, and as Director of the Training Academy. Chief Page is a Range Master and sniper/observer.  He served as a SWAT team entry member from 1990-1994, and was again assigned to the Training Academy from 2007-2010. He served as incident commander on critical incidents from 1985-1990.
